Luke 10:19-20 (NKJV) Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
With all that the enemy has put us through, it's quite easy to get excited when the Lord delivers us or uses us to deliver other people from the shackles and bondage of satan. But the Lord reminds us that, although He gave us the power over the enemy which we have every right to exercise, our focus should not be that. Our ultimate goal is to get to heaven. So we should strive to live bearing this in mind, that our lives do not end here on earth. As born again children of God we should live in fear of God, to please him and him only and to look for his coming. What we should ask ourselves everyday is whether our names are written in heaven. Amen.
