I thought I would share what the Lord did for me at work. We normally have targets to meet and if you meet and exceed them you get a flying performance appraisal and a bonus. The issue I had was that with one of my targets I relied on other departments to do what they are supposed to do before I could do my part that I was measured on. But for the most part of the year we always had a problem with this particular department that processes some documents for us. It's a known issue by all managers, but still it was difficult to get them to change the way they do things and that always fell on us in the end, such that it was very difficult to meet our targets. There was one particular lady who was always the one causing us extreme delays and we were all frustrated by her. I'll call her lady A. So our time to be evaluated for performance was fast approaching on 31 March and I could see that I would not meet this particular target because I had tried my best, but it was just no working out, all sorts of problems were coming up which I had no control over. I decided to go to God in prayer because really I was out of my depth. A few days later it seemed like things were working out, but then the department concerned announced that they would no longer be taking any documents from us pending the close of the financial books on 31 March. I thought to myself well at least I tried. They even went as far as return whatever we had submitted stating that they had closed. I gave up and told myself that I would lose, it was out of my hands. Then a few days later lady A came to our office telling us to submit the documents, we told her but her department closed, she said nope, she was told that they close on that day so we must hurry up and submit and so we did what we were supposed to do, and she took the documents (that had been returned to us) and said she would make sure herself that they are processed. She was like a possessed woman, she was bulldozing her own colleagues to make sure our documents went through. We were all shocked because she was the person that always dragged us down and we were always frustrated with her. That day I saw the Lord make a way where there was no way. My colleagues and I were shocked, we could not fathom what just happened. The documents were processed on time and I was able to meet my target. Even today my colleagues do not believe how things suddenly changed like that, but I knew that it could only be the hand of God, and I told them so. Indeed the earth is the Lord's and everything therein.
