Many times when we're in trouble or going through hardship we pray that we may be delivered from such. But sometimes the Lord takes time to give us an answer, because the time has not come for it yet. We tend to think only about this hardship as if it's now the cornerstone of our lives and we listen to the devil telling us that our prayers will never be answered, why are we even still praying. This, played over and over again in our minds, produces a level of bitterness towards God, as if He should be on our beck and call. But the way to get rid of this bitterness is to make up your mind that whatever u've been praying for is not the centre of your life, Jesus is the centre. Then be determined to pray first by giving thanks before you ask for anything. When you thank God don't just say thank you for my life, go into detail. Thank Him that you woke up in the morning, hundreds of thousands didn't wake up today. Thank Him that you woke up in your bed, others are lying in hospital, thank Him that you ate a hot meal, others are still looking for what they will eat. Thank Him for all the details in your life and by the time you are finished, you will probably not bother to ask for anything. You will realise how much the Lord has done for you, and that what you wanted is just a small drop in the ocean.
