1. How do i know whether a dream is from God, me or  the devil?

2. How do i differentiate whether a dream has a hidden meaning or if its  literal (Straight forward).

3. How do i know if a person's face is being used by the devil in the dream?

4. How often does a dream have to occur for it to be taken seriously?

5. Can you please write the commonest dream symbols and meanings.? That way, its easier to cross-check when there is a need to find the meaning.

 May God give you more wisdom to do this.  just like He did Joseph and Daniel in the bible.  I so much appreciate this..i dream every night. i write down all my dreams.God shows me things, about myself and other people...the thing i needed more was a place like this to find out what God is telling me. One of the things i have noticed since i have been on this forum is that when dreams are about the dreamer, they are so symbolic.


when i dream and its a message for other people, the dreams are very straight  :s
For example i dream that someone had a baby, after some time,they will indeed have a baby.
but when it comes to my affairs some dreams have been be so coded. Though some have been straight (and came to pass in the near future)

Every dream has it purpose and time(s)/date of fulfilment.
Each will come to pass accordingly and in it time, according to the lord date of fulfilling them.
This is not because it's nothing to do or has' to do with you.
It's all about purpose and timing, according to the will of God.

 Pastor, from what i understand,  dreams are symbolic, and visions are literal/straight forward.
i once heard a teaching that its mature Christians  that get dreams , and the immature that get visions,


quoting Joel 2:28  "And afterward i will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,your old men shall dream dreams,your young men shall see visions."


How true is this? Also,since dreams are those that come with deep sleep,does this mean that the ones we get when i light sleep or in a state of half-awake state are visions?

Vision can be manipulated by the devil.
There are fake:twisted vision and there are dreams from the devil and God.

But be sure that an anointed one who can interpret dream can decipher between good and bad dreams.
Dreams are strictly from the throne of God, directly from him while vision are just a flash of message from the presence of the lord.

In essence, dreams are very powerful and meaningful than vision.
It's who you are, it's your life, it defines and tells who you are.
It unravelled hiding secrets and evil plots of the enemies against one.

Indeed, vision are straight forward but can twisted by the devil,flesh and as a result of sin of it seer.
Dreams can't be manipulated so long you can recall then and yes dreams can be manipulated by the devil. Such I wouldn't really tag manipulation but 'manipulated dreams' dreams are indeed very power as confirmed from the book of Joel 2:28

Can speaks to his children anything and any hour it doesn't matter.
Your slight dream can carry more meaning that of the night. Dream is dream and the lord speaks when he pleases. So, do not take any of your dreams lightly. You can never tell which of them is more meaningful.

Thank you so much Sir!! The answers are very helpful and eye-opening.

I have been a dreamer since i was young.My dreams used to come to pass.This went on for a long time, but it was not as frequent as it is now, because i have embraced the supernatural and even picked a great interest in this area.Also, i have been growing spiritually. Now God speaks to me about everything through dreams.When our spirits desire to to hear from God, He indeed speaks to us. :)

Another thing i have noticed in my life is to get a good night's rest.When i do, God gives me like 4 dreams in one night
and they are very clear. When i don't sleep well,my dreams are not clear or i don't recall them well.

Also, i specifically ask God to speak to me before i fall asleep. Jeremiah 33:3.

For a year now,I keep a dream book- i write down every dream that i get each morning,especially when they are still fresh in my mind. Then as time goes on, i review them. Then of course am under grace than before.

I have found myself in problems before  because i never paid so much attention to my dreams.Now i know better.

1. How do i know if the message in the dream is preventable or if its an established decision of God?

2. When i get a dream about someone, i pray for them, and some times i tell them. I was wondering, at what point do i tell the person about the message in the dream? especially if its a warning/prophetic dream? Are there dreams about such that we are to keep to ourselves?
